The Margaret Felder Holland manuscript is a draft copy of a manuscript for a book titled Yukhta and the Littlest Sourdough, 1977. It is a story of Margaret's life growing up in Bethel, Alaska, and her family history based on memory and family letters and diaries. In 1908, her father ran a company trading post in Bethel. Included are descriptions people, schools, and living conditions in the Bethel area, prospectors in remote areas of Alaska in the early twentieth century, and descriptions of Eskimo customs. 104 pages.

The Grant H. Pearson manuscript, titled They're All Gone Now, is a history of the first sourdoughs in the Kantishna, Alaska Mining District. The manuscript contains biographies and detailed stories of people who lived and worked in the Kantishna mining district. A history of known climbs to Mt. McKinley, beginning with the James Wickersham group in 1903 and the Lloyd group in 1910 is also included.

The George L. Harrington letter was written at the Alaska-Canada boundary near Eagle City, Alaska, July 3, 1909. In the letter to his mother, George Harrington described, sometimes humorously, his Alaska experiences as he worked with the Alaska Boundary Survey. The letter was sent to Mrs. W.E. Harrington of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The letter was written on birch bark and should not be handled as it is very fragile.

Transcription of diary of J.B. McIntosh, assayer, for the Schwatka Exploration Expedition in Southeast, Alaska and the Yukon River. Sketches are not included. McIntosh gives short daily entries on the activities, trials and weather of the expedition. He also names some of the other people in the party. The Schwatka exploration expedition, ordered by Congress, came up Southeast Alaska's inside passage, traveled over the Chilkoot Pass and built a raft at Lake Bennett. They then traveled by raft from Lake Bennett to the mouth of the Yukon River in the Behring Sea.

A mixed collection documenting the growing relations between Alaska and Russia made possible through the efforts of Dixie Belcher as well as other members of the Alaskan Performing Artists for Peace and others. These efforts resulted in 80 government officials, Eskimos and Journalists to traveling to Russia to build ties with Siberian Yup'iks, and the USSR. The flight from Nome to Provideniya successfully happened in 1988.

These mines include Alaska Gastineau (Perseverance), Alaska Treadwell, Ebner, Silverbow (Nowell), Kensington, and Echo Bay. Various other smaller mining operations also gradually funneled into A.J.
