Alaska State Council on the Arts and the Alaska Arts and Culture Foundation (AACF) have partnered to provide a resource page related to the arts and culture sector titled Of Note on the AACF website. Silver Hand Program
The Silver Hand program helps Alaska Native artists promote their work in the marketplace and enables consumers to identify and purchase authentic Alaska Native art. The seal indicates that the artwork on which it appears is created by hand in Alaska by an individual Alaska Native artist. Only original contemporary and traditional Alaska Native artwork, not reproductions or manufactured work, may be identified and marketed with the Silver Hand seal. The Silver Hand image is protected under Alaska trademark statute and regulation and may only be used by individuals or organizations with Alaska State Council on the Arts’ explicit written permission. The Munartet Project is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to assist in the evaluation of the Munartet Project. The Munartet Project aims to enhance teaching in and through the arts and cultures of Kodiak by providing support, community and professional development opportunities to teachers. Munartet is an Alutiiq word, which means “artists,” and this project aspires to bring out the artist within each teacher to teach in and through the arts and culture in Kodiak. The project is a partnership between the Kodiak Island Borough School District, Alutiiq Museum, Kodiak Arts Council, Kodiak College and the Alaska State Council on the Arts. The Alaska State Council on the Arts will manage this RFP through the State of Alaska.
The Munartet Project is currently in the process of developing a summative evaluation of its first 10 years. We require external evaluation support to finalize the evaluation plan, assess existing data sources, and develop and implement additional data collection tools. This RFP outlines the evaluation questions, scope of work, timeline, and submission guidelines. Learn more about the Munartet Project at the website at munartet.org.
