DEED will be gathering stakeholder feedback on the final draft Perkins V Plan through March 31, 2020.
The Department of Education & Early Development (DEED) has completed the final draft of Alaska’s State Plan for the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V), the new federal law for career and technical education. All states must submit State applications to the U.S. Department of Education (USED), Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) to demonstrate compliance with the new law and to access the federal funding provided to implement it.
To ensure the Perkins V Plan is fully aligned to Alaska’s unique educational needs and Career and Technical Education (CTE) priorities, DEED is seeking your input to strengthen its application. The draft document has been created by DEED using guidance provided by OCTAE and shaped by stakeholder comments and feedback provided at meetings and conferences conducted across the state over the last year.
DEED has created an online feedback form to addresses the plan. Prior to completing the feedback form, DEED encourages stakeholders to read the associated plan.
Thank you for your participation. Your feedback is important.
When submitting feedback consider identifying the specific section or area the comment is addressing, i.e. special population or accountability. Including your email address is optional for clarifying questions or follow-up as needed from DEED, CTE.
