Public Access to Questions.
NAEP releases to the public about 25% of all items on each assessment and makes them available on the Web.
  • More than a thousand NAEP questions are available online in the NAEP Questions Tool. Sample student responses, scoring guides, and performance data is also available.
  • Demo booklets with all student background questions and sample test questions are available from the school before and during the assessment, and on the NAEP web site.
  • Parents and the general public may gain access to secure NAEP items by making a formal request to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Obtain information on making a formal request.
