Reporting Groups.
NAEP provides results for the nation, participating states and urban districts, and groups of students within the nation and the states defined by their shared characteristics. Results are generated for groups only when sufficient numbers of schools and students are available. Private school results are reported at the national level only.
  • For public school students, the minimum requirement is at least 62 students in a particular subgroup from at least five Primary Sampling Units (PSU).
  • For private school students, the minimum requirement is 62 students from at least six different schools for the state assessment or from at least five PSUs for the national assessment.
Students.
The data for all students, regardless of whether their group is reported separately, are included in computing the overall national or state-level results.
