Data Center Overview

DEED’s Data Management Team is responsible for the collection, analysis, and production of important data for the department. Our team is a great resource for school districts, parents, students, and researchers who are looking to better understand Alaska’s schools and education system. DEED’s Data Management Team responds to multiple data requests, and is your go-to for school calendars, district directories, and school contact information. We can also assist you if you encounter issues with your SRM accounts and ASIS.

Annual Report to the Legislature

Dashboards

The following dashboards are a joint effort within the department to bring Alaska education data across sections and years into aggregate views. 

General Statewide Longitudinal - Student enrollment, spending per pupil, full-time equivalent staffing, graduation rates, dropout rates, and attendance rates. Select multiple districts or schools and/or student demographics and years to get explore this general statewide educational data.

State Summative Assessments - Explore results from summative English/Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science assessments including trends over time, grade level, and by student demographic groups.

First Day Vacancy - Teaching position vacancy rates by percent or count over time, including by teaching assignment, assignment category, region, and vacancy reason. Select multiple districts or schools.

Please Note - The dashboards above were created with Power BI. Clicking an element filters the rest of the charts on the dashboard. In this way you can explore the data from a variety of angles. Other usage tips include:

- Square checkboxes support multi-select by holding down the CTRL key on your keyboard. You can use these to select a variety of schools/districts, etc.

- The Reset button sets the dashboard back to default.
