Alaska Teacher Retention Survey – We Want Your Input!
The Governor established a working group of practitioners to review the root causes of Alaska’s retention and recruitment in order to propose solutions through research-based methods to better attract and retain great teachers.
As part of the working group’s efforts, a survey has been created to determine how Alaska's current educators, as a whole group, prioritize specific factors. On Monday, October 26, all active certificate holders (over 15,600!) were sent an individual email from DEED inviting them to complete the survey using their email address on file with DEED’s Teacher Certification office. We are nearing 3,000 individual survey responses and we’re hoping to reach at least 5,000. Hear from Commissioner Johnson to learn more about the survey at https://vimeo.com/471756309. For more information or if you need your survey link resent you can contact DEED at deed.commissioner@alaska.gov.
