Virtual Learning Consortium
The Virtual Learning Consortium (VLC) is a component of the Alaska Reads Act (AS 14.30.800). The purpose of the VLC is to make virtual education and professional development resources available to students and teachers in the state.
Professional Development
Educators can enroll in asynchronous professional development courses listed in a growing course catalog. Most courses can be taken for Continuing Education Unit (CEU). Instructions for completing the course for CEU are within each course. Email akreads@alaska.gov for questions about CEUs.
How does it work?
- Login to eLearning with your username and password.
- Search for the “Virtual Learning Consortium" course catalog.
- Enroll in courses that meet your needs.
Digital Library
Educators can find resources to use with students and families as well as links to external resources to support reading. The resources in the Digital Library will continue to grow to meet the needs of Alaska educators.
Do you have a resource that you think should be included in the library? Email akreads@alaska.gov.
Virtual Services
Virtual Services include synchronous reading tutoring for students, technical assistance for school districts, and virtual coaching for teachers and paraprofessionals.
