Partnership brings free tutoring to Alaskan students
The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development has partnered with the non-profit Schoolhouse.world to provide free peer-to-peer tutoring to the students of Alaska.
Schoolhouse.world was launched in early 2020 by Sal Khan, the founder of the popular Khan Academy online learning website, to help students who were falling behind due to COVID-19.
Sessions are currently offered for Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, and SAT prep. Additional subjects may be added in the future.
Both tutors and learners must be 13-years-old or older in order to participate.
Philanthropic support and volunteer tutors enable to service to be provided for free.
