Indigenous Perspectives in School Librarianship program offering scholarships to train Alaskan library professionals
Montana State University is offering scholarships for 15 Alaskan library professionals to obtain a Library Media Certificate through the university’s Indigenous Perspectives in School Librarianship program.
The program is grant-funded and exists develop an open-access, culturally relevant and responsive curriculum preparation programs with an emphasis on Indigenous perspectives. The grant also includes funding for scholarships covering tuition, fees and books for 15 library professionals in Montana and another 15 in Alaska.
The program is a completely online, 7 course certificate program. Students can earn an M. Ed in Curriculum & Instruction by completing an addition 3 classes. Those additional classes would not be covered by the IPSL scholarship.
The application deadline is April 1.
