Beyond the Bell
What is Beyond the Bell? Beyond the Bell is a collection of after school opportunities that supports the professional learning of educators throughout the school year. All sessions will begin at 3:30pm or later, offering a variety of opportunities for educators to engage in communities of practice around high demand topics. Check them out at aklearns.org/beyond-the-bell!
Here are some of the opportunities available:
Creating Virtual Book Clubs Across Alaska — As lifelong readers and leaders, we know the value of reading and learning together at the student level, but rarely do we get the chance to read and learn together as leaders from any segment of the Alaskan community. Join one of the Professional Book Studies, get a free book, and optionally earn college credit. Starting October 1.
Teaching Early Literacy Remotely (coming soon…)
How do you teach a K-3 student to read remotely? Learn from the experts at REL Northwest.

AKRISE - A Network of Alaska's Rural Teachers
Join a network to collaborate with other rural teachers. The mission of the network is to promote engagement through collaboration and innovation for teachers and students in rural areas of Alaska to increase equity, learning, belonging and well-being. Register for the Virtual Convening October 16-17, with monthly meetings thereafter.
A New Teacher Community where new and new-to-Alaska educators can build relationships and receive support. Thursdays from 3:30-5pm, September 3 - October 8.

AASB & DEED are hosting a series of webinars featuring the Transforming Schools Framework and newly released Toolkit. Tuesdays from 3:30-5pm, September 15 - December 1.
Catlin Tucker - Using the 5Es Instructional Model to Create a Student-Centered Online Lesson (coming soon…)

Caregiver COVID Schooling ECHO
