Chelsea Hurst - Yukon Koyukuk School District
DEED Spotlight: Chelsea Hurst, Instructional Technology Supervisor, Yukon Koyukuk School District.
Ms. Hurst moved to Alaska only last summer, but already knows this is her favorite state. She is amazed by the support and sense of community she has experienced among Alaskan educators!
Ms. Hurst previously taught middle school Math and Science in Georgia and Oklahoma. Upon relocating to Alaska, she began working as the Instructional Technology Supervisor at Yukon Koyukuk School District (YKSD). Ms. Hurst was recently certified as a Google Trainer, and has been using her newly acquired certification to support educators in YKSD and beyond as they explore learning through technology.
After attending the Alaska Society for Technology in Education (ASTE) conference in February she was inspired to expand her support for educators beyond YKSD through YouTube tutorials. As education has quickly shifted to distance delivery due to the COVID-19 crisis, her instructional videos come at a perfect time! Check out her YouTube channel to learn more about Google classroom tools and other helpful technology for distance learning!
Ms. Hurst, thank you for supporting educators through the shift to distance-delivered education!
