Professional Learning Opportunities next week include new tools for Trauma Engaged Schools and common chronic disease management
Two professional learning opportunities will be offered next week as part of the Alaska Healthy Schools Learning Collaborative.
On Tuesday, November 2, staff from the Alaska Association of School Boards and DEED will present new resources that have been developed as part of the Transforming Schools framework for schools responding to their students’ exposure to adversity. The new resources include Milestone guides, Trauma Engaged “Knowing to Doing” Video Library, and social media campaign.
On Wednesday, November 3, Dr. Mishelle Nace and Barb Pennington from the Department of Health and Social Services will be presenting “Common Chronic Disease Management – Diabetes.”
Both sessions are from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
The Alaska Healthy Schools Learning Collaborative is presented by DEED and the Department of Health and Social Services Division of Public Health. CEUs will be available. Please visit our website for more information.
