CDC updates guidance for COVID-19 prevention in K-12 schools
Friday, July 9, 2021, the CDC updated its Guidance for COVID-19 Prevention in K-12 Schools.
Some of the changes to the guidance include:
- Revised to emphasize the COVID-19 prevention strategies most important for in-person learning for K-12 schools.
- Updated to align with guidance for fully vaccinated people.
- Added language on safety and health protections for workers in K-12 schools.
The CDC continues to recommend that people who are not fully vaccinated wear a mask indoors.
The CDC did not change recommendations for physical distancing, but emphasizes that physical distancing should not prevent students from having access to in-person learning.
The complete guidance is available here.
