Alaska Child Nutrition Programs received a grant from USDA to purchase software for schools and residential child care institutions participating in the National School Lunch Program.

The software package includes the following modules:

  • Eligibility Module: This component will provide an online Free and Reduced-Price application for families which can be submitted and processed by the system, direct certification lists will be transferred from Child Nutrition to the schools through this method and will provide schools with an online Benefit Issuance Document. Schools will also be able to scan in applications and they system will evaluate applications for free or reduced-price eligibility.
  • Menuing: This component provides USDA approved nutrient analysis software so that districts and RCCIs can ensure that meals are in compliance with the new nutrition standards and will have an optional production records element.
  • Administrative Review: This component allows for full transparency of the Administrative Review process and allows all documents and processes to be available to both SFAs and the State Agency.
