Purpose:

Our challenge is to ensure every child is proficient in reading with access to skilled educators implementing evidence-based practices. Alaska’s Science of Reading Symposium explores the research, its implications, and the urgency of action for students across the state.

History: 

The Alaska Science of Reading Symposium debuted in 2022, hosting national experts who shared evidence-based reading practices with over 1,000 Alaskan educators and leaders. Local leaders highlighted strategies to improve classroom outcomes. By 2023, registration filled within three weeks.
