Department Reading Program Districts

Welcome to Alaska’s Department Reading Program (DRP)

The Department Reading Program, under the Alaska Reads Act, provides intensive reading intervention for the lowest-performing 25% of K–3 schools, as identified through the state accountability system (AS 14.03.123). Each year, eligible schools are invited to apply, and after a review process, selected schools and districts are accepted into the DRP cohort. The Department Reading Program (DRP) will post the districts and their selected schools by year. This information will include the district/school’s application and a summary of the literacy work supported by DEED to improve student learning.
